Why are there fewer roster spots in older grade divisions? How is 7th (or 7th/8th) Grade Sold Out already?

Edited

Some programs have a limited number of roster spots in older grade divisions. As players move up, the number of available teams may decrease.

For example, a 6th-grade division may have eight teams of 12 players (96 available spots), while the 7th-grade division may only have four teams. This results in fewer total roster spots at the next level.

Additionally, in our older divisions (7th, 7th/8th or 8th Grade Divisions), roster sizes increase from 10-12 players to 14-15 players per team. More importantly, the field gameplay layout & size also changes – with 2 games played per traditional football field (half field layout), compared to 4 games per traditional field at younger grade levels (quartered field layout). These adjustments help support player development and game experience, but also contribute to fewer total team spots.

During Priority Registration, these spots are filled on a first come, first served basis for eligible returning players. We encourage families to complete registration early to help secure a spot in their division.
